Suzanne E. “Betty” Law­son, 79, passed away on Fri­day, Septem­ber 30, 2016 at the Villa St. Martha in Down­ign­town.

She was the beloved wife of Wal­ter J. “Walt” Law­son, with whom she shared 56 years of mar­riage.

Born in Up­per Darby, Betty was the daugh­ter of the late Fran­cis Alexan­der and Suzanne (nee Bis­sell) San­ders.

She was a grad­u­ate of Chest­nut Hill Col­lege and was em­ployed as a sec­re­tary for a real es­tate firm.

Betty was an avid ten­nis player and en­joyed go­ing out to din­ner and play­ing bridge with her friends. She loved to travel and once sailed in Florida from Naples to Key West. In ad­di­tion to her hus­band, Mrs. Law­son is sur­vived by her chil­dren, Wal­ter J. Law­son, Jr. and his wife, Lynne, of Suwa­nee, GA, Mary E. Zaffino and her hus­band, Joe, of North Bran­ford, CT, Suzanne L. Small and her hus­band, Jeff, of Malvern, and Kelly Law­son and her hus­band, Alex Lants­berg, of San Fran­cisco; broth­ers, John San­ders and his wife, Marie, of Me­dia and Stephen San­ders and his wife, Irene, of Farm­ing­ton; sis­ters, Cather­ine Ur­so­marso and her hus­band, Frank, of Wilm­ing­ton, DE and Carol Ann San­ders of Bran­ford, CT; and seven grand­chil­dren.

A li­turgy ser­vice will be held at 11 am on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 10th at the James J. Terry Fu­neral Home, 736 E. Lan­caster Ave., Down­ing­town, where fam­ily and friends may call from 10 to 10:45 am.
