Ribbon cutting celebrates renovation project
EAST GOSHEN >>After a summer of construction, students and teachers at Goshen Friends School in East Goshen recently cut the ribbon on a completed building and renovation project topping $500,000.
“I want it to inspire people to take a fresh look at Goshen,” said head of school Mimi Blackwell. “We’re really invested in having a Quaker Elementary in East Goshen Township.”
The new administration building resembles a one-room schoolhouse, evoking the historic architecture elsewhere on campus. Remodeling a former meetinghouse created a multipurpose space for lunch, concerts and more. The school also transformed offices into a pre-K classroom.
“My kids talked about this when they were here,” explained Blackwell, who has two teenagers. “I just really feel that it couldn’t be a more important gift.”
A new preschool classroom occupies the former administrative offices.
