Joseph W. Zaber of West Ch­ester

Joseph W. Zaber passed away peace­fully on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 2, 2016 at the age of 88.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 64 years, Loretta Kayes Zaber.

In ad­di­tion to his wife, he is sur­vived by his son, Mark Joseph Zaber and daugh­ter, Mary Beth Zaber-But­ter­worth; brother, Bernard Zaber; grand­chil­dren, Adam Zaber, Melissa Brand, Christo­pher But­ter­worth, Ash­ley But­ter­worth and 3 great grand­chil­dren, Emma, Ri­ley and Jack Brand.

Born July 4, 1928 in Shenan­doah, PA, he was the son of the late Wal­ter Zaber and the late Anna Gruca Zaber.

He was a grad­u­ate of Shenan­doah Catholic High School and earned an Aero­nau­ti­cal En­gi­neer­ing de­gree from Northrop Univer­sity.

Joseph worked as an En­vi­ron­men­tal En­gi­neer, di­rect­ing in­dus­trial and mu­nic­i­pal projects at Del­cora in Ch­ester, PA, be­fore re­tir­ing.

He was a mem­ber of St. Agnes Church in West Ch­ester.

Joseph served as Chair­man of the West Ch­ester Wa­ter Au­thor­ity and vol­un­teered at the Amer­i­can He­li­copter Mu­seum in West Ch­ester. He was a de­voted fam­ily man who loved avi­a­tion and boat­ing.

Gay St., West Ch­ester, PA 19380.

In­ter­ment will be pri­vate.
