Josephine Flynn Estep, formerly of Glenmoore
Josephine Flynn Estep, 87, passed away on October 2, 2016 with family by her side. She was a resident of Owensboro, Kentucky at the time of her passing.
Born to Adelaide and Frank Flynn on July 8, 1929 in Malvern, Pennsylvania she was raised in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Downingtown High School she took a clerical position with the United States Foreign Service and in 1950 was posted to Manila in the Philippines. While visiting Hong Kong in 1956 she met Paul Estep of Altoona, Pennsylvania and the two married in 1958. The couple resided in London, England, Hampton, Virginia and Langley, Virginia before settling in Newburgh, Indiana in 1965. She worked for over a decade in Evansville for St. Mary’s Medical Center and associated physicians as well as positions at Electronics Research and Bucyrus-Erie. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Troop 305 in Newburgh.
She is survived by a son Paul of Owensboro, Kentucky, a son Christopher of Newburgh, Indiana, a daughter Kathy of Owensboro, Kentucky, a son Kent of Los Angeles, California and a brother Francis of Malvern, Pennsylvania as well as two grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren and family in southeastern Pennsylvania.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in the Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
