Fred Guil­iano, age 73, of Bear, Delaware, passed away peace­fully at home on October 5, 2016 af­ter a lengthy ill­ness. Fred was born in 1943 in Jersey City, New Jersey, son of Josephine Mat­toscio Guil­iano and Sa­muel Guil­iano.

He grad­u­ated from Ken­nett High School in 1961 and went into the Air Force later that same year. He left the Air Force in 1966 and set­tled back into Ken­nett where he worked at Boe­ing as a welder to make jets and other air­craft. He then be­came a po­lice of­fi­cer for Ken­nett Bor­ough and then for New Gar­den Town­ship. Af­ter that, he be­came a car­pen­ter and taught car­pen­try school for Delaware Car­pen­ter’s Lo­cal 626 un­til he re­tired in 2003.

Fred was a very tal­ented man who en­joyed many ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing hunt­ing, fish­ing, and spend­ing time with his fam­ily. He was es­pe­cially known for his amaz­ing wood­work­ing skills. He will for­ever be known for his hu­mor­ous per­son­al­ity, stub­born mind, and big heart. He had a strong Chris­tian faith wit­nessed by church fam­ily at Corner­stone United Methodist Church in Bear. He is sur­vived by his wife of 51 years, Candy Guil­iano; two chil­dren, son Fred Guil­iano and his wife Kristin, daugh­ter Bar­bara Jean Guil­iano-Burke and her hus­band Steven; sis­ter Dolores Testa and her hus­band Louis Testa; three grand­chil­dren Dy­lan, Mau­rissa, and Seth; and three nieces Lisa Kelly, Michelle Slicer, and Chris­tine Hen­drick­son.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held at Bee­son Fu­neral Home, 2053 Pu­laski High­way, Ne­wark, Delaware on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Friends and fam­ily may visit at 11:00 AM at the fu­neral home. A com­mit­tal ser­vice will fol­low at 2:00 PM at Delaware Vet­er­ans Me­mo­rial Ceme­tery, 2465 Ch­e­sa­peake City Road, Bear, Delaware.
