Dorothy M. Umble of Chester Springs, PA
Dorothy M. Umble, age 91, wife of the late Ralph I. “Jim” Umble, died Sunday, October 9, 2016 in Golden Living Center, Phoenixville, PA.
Born on June 11, 1925 in Chester Springs, PA, she was a daughter of Lew and Sarah Graham. She was a graduate of Downingtown High School. She was a long time member of St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ in Chester Springs. Mrs. Umble formerly worked as a Secretary for Pennhurst, where she met her beloved husband. She also worked as a secretary at Neilson’s horse farm until her retirement. Mrs. Umble was known for her baking abilities, and her apple pies and black walnut cakes will be missed.
Mrs. Umble is survived by Godson, David B., husband of Sharon Myer of Chester Springs, PA; Mrs. Umble was predeceased by one sister.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Ceremony at St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ, 2350 Conestoga Road (Rt. 401), Chester Springs, PA 19425 on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 10:30 am. Officiating will be Rev. Ronald A. Hughes. Burial will be held in the St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, Chester Springs, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 am 10:15 am Thursday at St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ.
