Episcopal Church: The new Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania, The Right Reverend Daniel Gutierrez, will preside at the installation and institution of the fifth rector in the history of St. Francis-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church in Malvern, The Rev. Kevin Dellaria. The service will be held at the church located at 689 Sugartown Road in Malvern (Willistown Township) at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16. Bishop Gutierrez became the Diocese of Pennsylvania’s new Bishop in July, the same month Fr. Dellaria began his ministry at St. Francis. Fr. Dellaria and his wife, Donna, and their three children reside in Malvern.
Autumn Fest 2016
Church of the Saviour: The church, at 651 N. Wayne Ave. Wayne, will host an Autumn Fest Friday, Oct. 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. for children and their parents, extended family, friends and neighbors. The evening features food, drinks, candy and desserts, dozens of game booths, Moon Bounce and other inflatables, face painting and prizes. Costumes are encouraged. Missionary and YPD Day

Atglen: The Evelina Hill Missionary Society and the Young People’s department will be celebrating their Annual Missionary and YPD Day Sunday, Oct. 16. The Reverend Clarence Stevens from Brighter Way Church in Newark Delaware will bring the word during the 10:30am service. The Reverend Frederick T. Faison, Chaplain at Lincoln University will bring the afternoon message at the 3:30 p.m service. The theme for the day is: “On the Battlefield for Our Lord!” scripture reference: “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. Romansville UMC Pancake Breakfast
Romansville United Methodist Church: The Romansville UMC Women are partnering with Applebee’s at 3479 East Lincoln Hwy in Thorndale for their Annual Pancake Breakfast Saturday, Oct. 22 from 8 a.m.
to 10 a.m. Applebee’s does all the cooking and the women of the Romansville Church will be serving the pancakes, sausage, orange juice, soda, tea and coffee. Cost for the “all you can eat” Pancake Breakfast is $8 for adults and $4.50 for children under 6. The proceeds will support the cost to mail 100 shoe boxes for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child project. Book club discussion group
Calvary Lutheran Church: 730 South New Street, West Chester; Leaders of different faith communities are working together to promote understanding and peace. Pastor Dan Krewson believes “that we must be intentional to wage peace in light of the escalating religious violence and extremism of our day.” Members of the Religious Council of Greater West Chester are hosting a book discussion group in 201617.
