Villanova U. hosts 15th annual Buddy Walk
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s 15th Annual CHOP Buddy Walk and Family Fun Day took place Oct. 2 at Villanova University.
The event began 15 years ago as a way to raise funds, promote acceptance and inclusion of people with trisomy 21 and encourage families to have a great time. As the sole fundraising event for the Trisomy 21 Program at CHOP, the Buddy Walk raises crucial funds to support the program year-round, while celebrating children and adults with Down syndrome and their families. The event also supports the National Down Syndrome Society.
This family fun day was filled with food and entertainment for all ages, including great sweepstakes prizes and games. Activities included mascot and character appearances, moon bounces, face painting, balloon animals, athletic activities and more.
A ceremonial 2-mile Walk kicked the CHOP Buddy Walk. The day is sponsored by Wawa, Inc. and Villanova University.
