TD Charitable Trust awards $15,000 grant
WEST CHESTER >> TD Bank through the TD Charitable Trust awarded a $15,000 grant to the Friends Association for Care & Protection of Children to be used for the Outreach to Homeless Families program. The substantial grant will be used by Friends Association for resources specific to the organization’s newest program, Outreach to Homeless Families.
Families are referred to Friends Association through Connect-Points and a case manager immediately begins working with families to assist them in accessing emergency benefits, housing coordination and employment assistance. Friends Association was able to prevent homelessness for 96 families, including 187 children in Chester County this past year.
“The Outreach to Homeless Families Program was created to provide immediate help to Homeless Families that had not had help previously. We are grateful for the support from the TD Charitable Trust for new initiatives that help us to continue to grow to meet the needs of our community, ” stated Catherine Friedman, Friends Association Executive Director.
Friends Association promotes the independence of families with children by providing shelter, programs and services that prevent and end homelessness in Chester County. In 2015, Friends Association saved over 96 families and 187children from homelessness.
Rachel M. Wilner, senior vice president, regional vice president, TD Bank, and Andrea Larosa, store manager, TD Bank present a $15,000 grant check to Catherine Friedman, executive director, Friends Association for Care & Protection of Children. TD Bank, through the TD Charitable Foundation’s generous donation will be used for the Outreach to Homeless Families program.
