TD Char­i­ta­ble Trust awards $15,000 grant

WEST CH­ESTER >> TD Bank through the TD Char­i­ta­ble Trust awarded a $15,000 grant to the Friends As­so­ci­a­tion for Care & Pro­tec­tion of Chil­dren to be used for the Out­reach to Home­less Fam­i­lies pro­gram. The sub­stan­tial grant will be used by Friends As­so­ci­a­tion for re­sources spe­cific to the or­ga­ni­za­tion’s new­est pro­gram, Out­reach to Home­less Fam­i­lies.

Fam­i­lies are re­ferred to Friends As­so­ci­a­tion through Con­nect-Points and a case man­ager im­me­di­ately be­gins work­ing with fam­i­lies to as­sist them in ac­cess­ing emer­gency ben­e­fits, hous­ing co­or­di­na­tion and em­ploy­ment as­sis­tance. Friends As­so­ci­a­tion was able to pre­vent home­less­ness for 96 fam­i­lies, in­clud­ing 187 chil­dren in Ch­ester County this past year.

“The Out­reach to Home­less Fam­i­lies Pro­gram was cre­ated to pro­vide im­me­di­ate help to Home­less Fam­i­lies that had not had help pre­vi­ously. We are grate­ful for the sup­port from the TD Char­i­ta­ble Trust for new ini­tia­tives that help us to con­tinue to grow to meet the needs of our com­mu­nity, ” stated Cather­ine Fried­man, Friends As­so­ci­a­tion Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor.

Friends As­so­ci­a­tion pro­motes the in­de­pen­dence of fam­i­lies with chil­dren by pro­vid­ing shel­ter, pro­grams and ser­vices that pre­vent and end home­less­ness in Ch­ester County. In 2015, Friends As­so­ci­a­tion saved over 96 fam­i­lies and 187chil­dren from home­less­ness.

TD Bank, through the TD Char­i­ta­ble Foun­da­tion’s gen­er­ous do­na­tion will be used for the Out­reach to Home­less Fam­i­lies pro­gram.
