Irene A. Welsh of Upper Darby, PA

Irene A. Welsh went peacefully home and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, October 13, 2016.

Irene was greeted at the gates of heaven by her loving husband, John R. Welsh, her parents, David and Mabel Brown, her three sisters, Pearl, Adelle and Gloria, and her brother David.

Irene was born in Clearfield County Pennsylvania on December 20, 1921.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Bunny Welsh of Chadds Ford, son, John R. Welsh, Jr. of Florida, and daughter, Virginia Cole of Maine.

She is also survived by sisters Gertrude (Toots) Edwards of Drexel Hill and Lillian Wilkinson of Holidaysburg, and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Irene’s greatest loves next to her family were the Phillies, Eagles, Penn State and Republican politics. She was an avid sports fan and never missed a game or voting in an election.

She will be dearly missed by many but we are comforted knowing she is in the presence of Jesus and in her eternal resting place with those she loves.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Patriotic Order Sons of America, 240 South Centre Avenue, Leesport, PA. 19533.

Services and burial will be private.
