Tie cre­ates co-champs in boys soccer

Tom Kelly scored in the first half as Unionville was tied, 1-1, by Down­ing­town West in a Ches-Mont League boys soccer game Thurs­day.

The tie, com­bined with Ken­nett’s win over Great Val­ley, cre­ated co-cham­pi­ons in the Amer­i­can Di­vi­sion. Both teams fin­ished at 7-4-2.

Kelly scored 12 min­utes into the first half.

Con­nor Ros­sas equal­ized for the Whip­pets mo­ments later.

Gar­rett Pep­per racked up 12 saves for Unionville, which is 10-5-2 over­all. broke the dead­lock with 21 min­utes left in the sec­ond half.

Mitch Gill scored for the Cougars.

James Wal­dron scored in over­time for the Ch­esMont vic­tory. Bret Car­ri­gan and Diego Al­manza also scored for Oc­torara.

Pa­tric Ahmed and Luis Sar­avia scored for Coatesville.
