Salem Car­low scored twice as Unionville ended West Ch­ester Rustin’s run of five straight Ches-Mont Amer­i­can Di­vi­sion girls soc­cer ti­tles with a 6-0 shutout over Octorara on Fri­day.

Unionville (10-2-1, 12-42) was the last team to win an Amer­i­can crown be­fore Rustin’s string be­gan.

Sa­matha Cic­carelli, Jackie Hug, Veron­ica Hine­man and Claire Mat­son also scored for Unionville.

Katie Bor­lie and Abby Hug com­bined for three saves.

Girls Ten­nis

DISTRICT 1 DOU­BLES >> The area was as­sured of a fi­nal­ist at the District 1 tour­na­ment as Ni­cole Egh­bali and Sammy Roberts of Down­ing­town East will face Ash­ley Grif­fith and Mad- die Wood of Con­estoga in the semi­fi­nals. The win­ner will face Sophia Sas­soli and Con­nie Richards of Har­ri­ton in the fi­nal on Wed­nes­day.

El­iz­a­beth Berezin and Gabby Zay­den­berg of Lower More­land cap­tured the Class AA cham­pi­onship by beat­ing Gabby Per­sechino and Lau­ren Fer­raro, 7-6 (4), 6-3.

CHRISTO­PHER DOCK 3, DEVON PREP 2 >> Nick Bello scored twice for the Tide (8-10) in the Bi­cen­ten­nial League con­test.

MOORESTOWN FRIENDS 4, WESTTOWN 1 >> Karie McGill scored for the Moose (2-3-1, 4-7-1) in the Friends School League con­test.

Girls Ice Hockey

DOWN­ING­TOWN WEST 8, W.C. RUSTIN 3 >> De­laney Carle scored twice dur­ing a five­goal first pe­riod to lead the Whip­pets to the ICSHL win. Sa­man­tha Schultz had two goals and two as­sists and Analise Moy­land scored twice.

Jess Ciar­roc­chi had a hat trick for the Golden Knights.

Wa­ter Polo

MALVERN PREP 15, EPIS­CO­PAL ACAD­EMY 4 >> The Fri­ars (4-1, 15-4) used an 11-1 sec­ond half to record the In­ter-Ac vic­tory. Malvern was led de­fen­sively by Sea­mus Glynn’s four steals. Isaac Sali­nas had three steals and two blocked shots, Steven Salle added two steals and three blocks. Jack Ley­den and Griff De­laney com­bined for 14 saves in goal. Salle and Glynn had four goals and three as­sists each. Sali­nas and Zach Ma­her had a pair of goals and an as­sist each. Sean Oates had a goal and three as­sists. Liam Close and Bren­nan Robin­son had sin­gle tal­lies.

Col­lege Girls Ten­nis

MARYWOOD 5, IMMACULATA 2>> Third-seeded Immaculata fell to Marywood in the CSAC semi­fi­nals. The Mighty Macs won the first dou­bles match to fin­ish as their top team of Lau­ren Deg­nan and Kelly Gross de­feated Aby­gail Doud and Kris­ten Lam­bert, 8-2. The Pac­ers picked up wins at both sec­ond and third dou­bled, 8-4 and 8-5, re­spec­tively. Marywood got ahead 4-1 early with wins at fifth and sixth sin­gles. Immaculata ral­lied for its sec­ond point as Gross brought home a 7-6 (7-0), 6-0 win at sec­ond sin­gles against Danielle Ogonowski. Immaculata and Marywood bat­tled it out at first, third and fourth sin­gles, with first and fourth sin­gles go­ing into a third set. The Pac­ers were able to clinch the match with a tough 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) win at third sin­gles against An­naliese Kam­bourog­los. Immaculata fin­ishes the year 12-6 over­all and went 8-2 in CSAC play.
