Indians wrap up American soccer title
Salem Carlow scored twice as Unionville ended West Chester Rustin’s run of five straight Ches-Mont American Division girls soccer titles with a 6-0 shutout over Octorara on Friday.
Unionville (10-2-1, 12-42) was the last team to win an American crown before Rustin’s string began.
Samatha Ciccarelli, Jackie Hug, Veronica Hineman and Claire Matson also scored for Unionville.
Katie Borlie and Abby Hug combined for three saves.
DISTRICT 1 DOUBLES >> The area was assured of a finalist at the District 1 tournament as Nicole Eghbali and Sammy Roberts of Downingtown East will face Ashley Griffith and Mad- die Wood of Conestoga in the semifinals. The winner will face Sophia Sassoli and Connie Richards of Harriton in the final on Wednesday.
Elizabeth Berezin and Gabby Zaydenberg of Lower Moreland captured the Class AA championship by beating Gabby Persechino and Lauren Ferraro, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
CHRISTOPHER DOCK 3, DEVON PREP 2 >> Nick Bello scored twice for the Tide (8-10) in the Bicentennial League contest.
MOORESTOWN FRIENDS 4, WESTTOWN 1 >> Karie McGill scored for the Moose (2-3-1, 4-7-1) in the Friends School League contest.

DOWNINGTOWN WEST 8, W.C. RUSTIN 3 >> Delaney Carle scored twice during a fivegoal first period to lead the Whippets to the ICSHL win. Samantha Schultz had two goals and two assists and Analise Moyland scored twice.
Jess Ciarrocchi had a hat trick for the Golden Knights.
MALVERN PREP 15, EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 4 >> The Friars (4-1, 15-4) used an 11-1 second half to record the Inter-Ac victory. Malvern was led defensively by Seamus Glynn’s four steals. Isaac Salinas had three steals and two blocked shots, Steven Salle added two steals and three blocks. Jack Leyden and Griff Delaney combined for 14 saves in goal. Salle and Glynn had four goals and three assists each. Salinas and Zach Maher had a pair of goals and an assist each. Sean Oates had a goal and three assists. Liam Close and Brennan Robinson had single tallies.
College Girls Tennis
MARYWOOD 5, IMMACULATA 2>> Third-seeded Immaculata fell to Marywood in the CSAC semifinals. The Mighty Macs won the first doubles match to finish as their top team of Lauren Degnan and Kelly Gross defeated Abygail Doud and Kristen Lambert, 8-2. The Pacers picked up wins at both second and third doubled, 8-4 and 8-5, respectively. Marywood got ahead 4-1 early with wins at fifth and sixth singles. Immaculata rallied for its second point as Gross brought home a 7-6 (7-0), 6-0 win at second singles against Danielle Ogonowski. Immaculata and Marywood battled it out at first, third and fourth singles, with first and fourth singles going into a third set. The Pacers were able to clinch the match with a tough 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) win at third singles against Annaliese Kambouroglos. Immaculata finishes the year 12-6 overall and went 8-2 in CSAC play.
