Ros­alind C. “Rosie” Graveno, 76, of Down­ing­town, passed away on Oc­to­ber 14, 2016 at Paoli Hospi­tal.

Born in Down­ing­town, she was the daugh­ter of the late Or­lando and Mar­garet (nee Muzii) Graveno.

A grad­u­ate of Down­ing­town High School, Rosie went on to open her own sa­lon, Le Chalet of Style, in Au­gust of 1985, in Down­ing­town. Born and raised in the area, it was dif­fi­cult to find any­one who didn’t know Rosie; her ded­i­cated clien­tele stayed with her dur­ing the 30 years she served the area. Prior to open­ing her own busi­ness, she was a teacher at Bry­land School of Beauty in Coatesville and man­ager of Hair LTD.

Rosie was a mem­ber of St. An­thony Lodge Ladies Aux­il­iary and a life-long mem­ber of St. Joseph parish, serv­ing as cap­tain of the bake sale booth at St. Joseph Fes­ti­val for the past 8 years.

She is sur­vived by her son, Brian (Su­san) Graveno of Al­len­town; broth­ers Adam (Ruth Ann) Graveno of Franklin, TN and John (Traute) of Vir­ginia Beach, VA and three grand­chil­dren; Evan, Molly and Emily Graveno.

A me­mo­rial mass will take place Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Down­ing­town, where fam­ily and friends may call from 8:45 a.m. un­til 10:15 a.m.. In­urn­ment at St. Joseph’s Ceme­tery will be pri­vate.

In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made to the Rosie Graveno Burial Fund, c/o James J. Terry Fu­neral Home, 736 E. Lan­caster Ave., Down­ing­town, PA 19335.
