Po­lice: Armed rob­bers ran­sack res­i­dence

Two masked armed rob­bers both al­legedly dis­played a hand­gun in front of a fam­ily in their home.

UP­PER UWCHLAN >> Two masked armed rob­bers both al­legedly dis­played a hand­gun in front of a fam­ily in their home, and or­dered them into their liv­ing room be­fore ran­sack­ing the res­i­dence at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, ac­cord­ing to po­lice.

Po­lice re­sponded to re­ports of a rob­bery in progress at a home in the Wind­sor Ridge devel­op­ment in Up­per Uwchlan, and made con­tact with res­i­dents when they ar­rived.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the rob­bers re­port­edly en­tered through the back of the res­i­dence, and after or­der­ing the fam­ily to the liv­ing area and ran­sack­ing the home, were last seen flee­ing on foot on Oliver Drive.

Po­lice said mem­bers of the house­hold were not harmed, and ask any­one who has in­for­ma­tion to call po­lice at 610-692-5100.

Up­per Uwchlan po­lice were as­sisted by West Vin­cent po­lice and the Uwchlan po­lice de­tec­tive di­vi­sion.

WEST CH­ESTER

A man was beaten with a barstool at the Moose Lodge on Washington Street in West Ch­ester, ac­cord­ing to po­lice.

Michael D. Mitchell, 34, of West Ch­ester, al­legedly knocked an­other man off his barstool at the lodge after a ver­bal dis­pute with him shortly be­fore 9:30 p.m. Oct. 9, po­lice said. He then al­legedly struck the same man with a barstool.

Po­lice said the vic­tim suf­fered from head in­juries.

Po­lice said Mitchell left the area be­fore po­lice ar­rived, but did re­spond to re­quests to come to the po­lice sta­tion. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, he was charged with sim­ple as­sault and ha­rass­ment.
