Diane Lynn Taft Par­shall Dick­son of Li­titz

Diane Lynn Taft Par­shall Dick­son, 68, died peace­fully on Thurs­day, October 20, 2016 at Con­estoga View, Lan­caster.

Born in Philadel­phia, she was the daugh­ter of the late Al­bert W. and Dorothy Herr Taft. Diane grad­u­ated from West Ch­ester Univer­sity and re­ceived a Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence De­gree in Mu­sic Ed­u­ca­tion. She was a mu­sic teacher for the Unionville School Dis­trict. Diane also served as a choir direc­tor and soloist for area churches. She loved her cats and had a soft heart for an­i­mals. Diane was a mem­ber of the Gil­bert & Sul­li­van So­ci­ety of Ch­ester County. For many years she worked as a light­ing tech­ni­cian for var­i­ous the­ater pro­duc­tions in Ch­ester County. Diane was an avid life-long reader, and also had a pas­sion for Bi­b­li­cal Ar­chae­ol­ogy Re­view.

Sur­viv­ing is a daugh­ter, Katie wife of Nathan Sum­ner of Li­titz, two grand­sons: Drake and Finn Sum­ner, and a brother, Richard Taft and wife Jan of Florence, Ken­tucky.

The fam­ily would like to thank all the staff at Con­estoga View for the com­pas­sion­ate and lov­ing care Diane re­ceived dur­ing her res­i­dence there.

Rel­a­tives and friends are re­spect­fully in­vited to at­tend Diane’s fu­neral service at the Buch-Heisey Fu­neral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Li­titz, on Fri­day, October 28, 2016 at 1:30 PM. Friends may visit with the fam­ily at the fu­neral home on Fri­day af­ter­noon from 1:00 PM un­til the time of the service. In­ter­ment will be in Li­titz Mo­ra­vian Ceme­tery.
