Mary Harkins and An­nina Ia­cobucci had three goals each as top-seeded Villa Maria trounced Spring­field (Delco), 14-0, in the sec­ond round of the Dis­trict 1 Class AA field hockey play­offs Wed­nes­day.

The Hur­ri­canes (16-1) will host eighth-seeded Rad­nor in the quar­ter­fi­nals on Fri­day.

Han­nah Miller, Emily Doyle and Ryan Do­ran had two goals each.

Lind­say Dick­in­son and Adri­anna Ya­co­belli had sin­gle tal­lies. Whip­pets with a 96. Shae Cabaddu fol­lowed with a 98, Lily Byrne had a 100, Shan­non Hale 106 and Caitlin McGrinder carded a 107.

Col­lege Women’s Soccer

LIN­COLN 4, TRIN­ITY 0 >> Se­nior Ta­mara Greene recorded her first ca­reer hat trick as the Lions (3-10) cruised to the non-con­fer­ence vic­tory. Greene notched Lin­coln’s first three goals of the game and Averri Glenn added a score late in the sec­ond half. Goalie Lena Ro­driguez had 4 saves.

Men’s Soccer

IM­MAC­U­LATA 3, CAIRN 0 >> Im­mac­u­lata men’s soccer took one step closer to clinch­ing a home game in the up­com­ing Colo­nial States Ath­letic Con­fer­ence Tour­na­ment on Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon with a 3-0 win at Cairn. Im­mac­u­lata im­proves to 11-5-1 over­all and 6-2 in con­fer­ence play. It sets a pro­gram record for wins in a sin­gle sea­son, top­ping the 10-win sea­sons by the 2008 and 2009 Mighty Mac squads. The six wins tie the Im­mac­u­lata mark for most wins in con­fer­ence game, equal­ing those of last year’s squad and those of 2008 and 2009. Nick Boule started the scor­ing for Im­mac­u­lata in the sev­enth minute when he fin­ished the pass from Alex Noel for the early 1-0 lead. The Mighty Macs would hold that same ad­van­tage at the break.

Vol­ley­ball

IM­MAC­U­LATA 3, CEN­TE­NARY 0>> Im­mac­u­lata vol­ley­ball punched its ticket to its third-straight CSAC post­sea­son Wed­nes­day night with a 3-0 sweep on the road at Cen­te­nary. The Mighty Macs took the match with scores of 25-17, 25-15 and 2515. Im­mac­u­lata im­proved to 9-14 over­all and 6-4 in the CSAC. Gabrielle Guer­rera had a team-lead­ing 13 kills while adding three ser­vice aces and six digs. Ar­den Viz­zard had a dou­ble­dou­ble with 11 kills and 12 digs, and also had three aces. Shelby Belk rounded out a trio of Mighty Macs with dou­ble-digit kills with 10, and she had a team-best four aces and two blocks. Olivia Zdradzin­ski handed out 14 as­sists while adding three kills and eight digs. Madi Cur­ley fin­ished with 13 as­sists and six digs. Molly Truitt made 11 digs, five as­sists and three ser­vice aces.

Field Hockey

WEST CH­ESTER 3, MILLERSVILLE 2, OT >> Se­nior back Nikki Ben­nett scored her first col­lege goal, 51 sec­onds into over­time as the ninth-ranked Golden Rams (7-2, 11-6) posted the up­set over No. 4 Millersville (64, 13-4). Ben­nett tipped a blast from Dayle Paus­tian into the cage off a penalty cor­ner. The Golden Rams knot­ted things up late in the sec­ond half, send­ing the game into over­time when fresh­man back Maya Gul­lik­sen sent a long ball up to Marnie Kusakav­itch, who broke in alone down the right side. Kusakav­itch beat Millersville goal­keeper Sa­man­tha Rum­ler short side in the 57th minute, evening the score at 2-2.

Adult Base­ball

WCBL LOOK­ING FOR FOR TEAMS >> The West Ch­ester Base­ball League is look­ing to ex­pand and is ac­cept­ing ap­pli­ca­tions for new teams for the 2017 sea­son. The league is a com­pet­i­tive wood bat, hard­ball league for adults, aged 17 and above, fea­tur­ing a 30-game sched­ule with all games played at Hoopes Park in West Ch­ester. Sched­ul­ing ranges from early May to early/mid August (weather depen­dent). The league fea­tures play­ers from the high school, col­le­giate (all di­vi­sions) and (for­mer) pro­fes­sional ranks and has been in ex­is­tence since 1956.
