Jazz vespers United Methodist Church:
Acclaimed jazz singer Rhenda Fearrington will perform at a Jazz Vespers Service at the United Methodist Church in Havertown at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30. This event is free and open to the public. Book club discussion group Calvary Lutheran Church:
730 South New Street, West Chester; Leaders of Rhenda Fearrington will perform at a Jazz Vespers Service at the United Methodist Church on Sunday. different faith communities are working together to promote understanding and peace. Pastor Dan Krewson believes “that we must be intentional to wage peace in light of the escalating religious violence and extremism of our day.” Members of the Religious Council of Greater West Chester are hosting a book discussion group in 201617. Participants are invited to read “Laying Down the Sword” by Philip Jenkins. The group will meets on: Nov. 28, Jan. 23 and March 6 (first meeting was Oct. 24). Harvest celebration Romansville United Methodist Church:
The community is invited to join the congregation during its Annual Harvest Celebration/Hay Ride from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30. The church is located at 1859 W. Strasburg Road, Romansville. Join around the camp fire, cook hotdogs, roast marshmallows and enjoy chips and yummy cookies, along with a fun filled hay ride for parents and children. Bring your family and friends. All are welcome and there’s no entrance fee.
Breakfast and fellowship Mt. Zion AME Church:
Join the congregation for breakfast and fellowship as it honors the memory of Bro. Sheridan Dickinson, whose wish was to have this breakfast on a regular basis with the proceeds going toward the “Catch the Vison” building fund. The event is held from 7 to 11 a.m. on Nov. 5.
