Firefighters: Two of the four people suffered head injuries
VALLEY >> Four people were injured in a one-car crash overnight on Wednesday.
First responders were dispatched at 12:09 a.m. Wednesday on the Route 30 Bypass for a report of a car crash with injuries, entrapment and fire. Westwood Battalion Chief John Sly said when he arrived two minutes after the dispatch, there was no fire and the four occupants had exited the vehicle.
The four occupants, all injured, were transported to local hospitals. Sly said that two of the occupants suffered head injuries. There was not an update available on Friday of their conditions.
The vehicle went off the roadway after it hit a tree, Sly said. It landed on its side. The crash occurred eastbound on the Route 30 Bypass, east of Airport Road in Valley. Sly said the eastbound exit ramp to Airport Road was closed and eastbound traffic was restricted to one traffic lane for some time.
Westwood Fire Company firefighters and Westwood Fire Company Ambulance, assisted by Medic 93, cleared the scene at 12:45 a.m. and the eastbound lanes reopened.
