Theodore H. Moltz, Jr., formerly of West Chester
Theodore H. Moltz, formerly of West Chester, died on August 23, 2016 in Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota Florida.
Theodore “Ted” was born on September 21, 1926 to Theodore H. and Mary Boldridge Moltz in Whitford Pennsylvania. He attended Downingtown Schools and the Randolph Macon Academy in Front Royal Virginia. He married his loving wife Anita Knox on September 27, 1955 at the Westminister Presbyterian Church in West Chester.
He had a long career in sales and management with the Eaton Corporation, which moved him from Erie, Canton & Hudson Ohio to Holland and West Chester Pennsylvania. After a brief retirement Ted joined A. Duie Pyle as a driver, then Warehouse Manager.
When fully retired Ted and Anita moved to Sarasota Florida where they took up sailing and became involved with the Sahib Shrine. His 23 years in Sarasota were filled with sailing in the Gulf of Mexico and volunteering in numerous charity events to benefit The Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Tampa. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife Anita and sisters Jeanne Bicking (Robert) and Mariellen Wilkins (Earl). He is survived by his son Tobin W. Moltz (Cindy) of Pottstown, PA and daughter Marianne Sands (Randall) of Brookeville, MD and grandchildren Kristine Moltz Palmer (Oliver), Katherine Moltz Williams (Christopher), Justan Pratt, Lauren Sands and Yardley Sands.
Ted was loved and admired for his generosity, incredible work ethic and sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA at 11:00 AM.
