Jordan Bradley third in states
Jordan Bradley of Downingtown West posted a third-place finish at the PIAA Class AAA Girls Tennis Singles Championship at the Hershey Racquet Club on Saturday.
The sophomore beat senior Meredith Lee of Owen J. Roberts, 6-2, 1-6, 6-0. Earlier, Bradley was beaten, 6-3, 6-0, by senior Eliza Askarova of George Washington in the semifinals.
Askarova eliminated Jordan’s sister, and District 1 champion, Peyton Bradley, in the quarterfinals.
Askarova was beaten by Norwin junior Maria Santelli for the championship in straight sets. seventh to lead West Chester to a 12th place finish at the NCAA Division II Regional Championship on Saturday morning at Slippery Rock University. West Chester’s Dunn registered a final time of 23 minutes and 20 seconds, which was good enough to claim top 25 All-Region honors. Dunn was the fastest freshman by 20 seconds and 58 seconds ahead of the third best freshman. She was the first individual non-qualifier for nationals. Crossing the finish line next for the Golden Rams in the regional was sophomore Amanda Kodis She produced a time of 24:48, while earning 50th and improving 81 spots from last year’s regional.
