Jordan Bradley third in states

Jordan Bradley of Down­ing­town West posted a third-place fin­ish at the PIAA Class AAA Girls Ten­nis Sin­gles Cham­pi­onship at the Her­shey Rac­quet Club on Satur­day.

The sopho­more beat se­nior Mered­ith Lee of Owen J. Roberts, 6-2, 1-6, 6-0. Ear­lier, Bradley was beaten, 6-3, 6-0, by se­nior El­iza Askarova of Ge­orge Washington in the semi­fi­nals.

Askarova elim­i­nated Jordan’s sis­ter, and Dis­trict 1 cham­pion, Pey­ton Bradley, in the quar­ter­fi­nals.

Askarova was beaten by Nor­win ju­nior Maria San­telli for the cham­pi­onship in straight sets. seventh to lead West Ch­ester to a 12th place fin­ish at the NCAA Divi­sion II Re­gional Cham­pi­onship on Satur­day morn­ing at Slip­pery Rock Univer­sity. West Ch­ester’s Dunn reg­is­tered a fi­nal time of 23 min­utes and 20 sec­onds, which was good enough to claim top 25 All-Re­gion hon­ors. Dunn was the fastest fresh­man by 20 sec­onds and 58 sec­onds ahead of the third best fresh­man. She was the first in­di­vid­ual non-qual­i­fier for na­tion­als. Cross­ing the fin­ish line next for the Golden Rams in the re­gional was sopho­more Amanda Kodis She pro­duced a time of 24:48, while earn­ing 50th and im­prov­ing 81 spots from last year’s re­gional.
