Euginio Orti Perez-Bard, 28, of Nottingham, and Geovoni Cruz, 23, of Lincoln University, were both arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Mark A. Bruno, and each was released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
Both have a preliminary hearing set before Bruno at 9 a.m. Nov. 22.
A 27-year-old man was transported to Paoli Hospital and placed in critical condition after being assaulted outside of the 7-Eleven on South High Street in West Chester at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 9, police said. There was no update Monday about the victim’s current medical status.
Police said the victim suffered facial fractures, a skull fracture and brain trauma.
According to police, surveillance video showed the male victim leaving the store and immediately being attacked by two men. After interviewing a woman who knows one of the suspects, they were identified as Cruz and Perez-Bard.
In affidavits filed at Bruno’s court, police wrote that both men reportedly “punched and kicked (the victim) numerous times” on his head and body.
Both are charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and conspiracy.
