Woman critically injured in city hit-run
Cynthia McNeil was returning home from work when she was struck in the area of Ninth and Barclay streets, according to a prepared release issued by city Police Capt. Anita Amaro.
Chester police were dispatched to the 200 block of West Ninth Street for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at 8:15 p.m. Saturday. Arriving officers found the woman lying in the street. The victim was taken by ambulance to Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
A witness told officers that the striking vehicle stopped at the corner of Ninth and Barclay. A woman exited and frantically screamed before getting back into the car and speeding off, the release states.
The vehicle being sought by police should have heavy front-end damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle, the release states. The make and model of the striking vehicle are unknown.
