Two peo­ple air­lifted from scene of crash

Two peo­ple were air­lifted to area hos­pi­tals for in­juries Sun­day fol­low­ing a crash in New Hanover Town­ship.

It hap­pened shortly after 11 a.m. along the 2400 block of Route 73/Big Road east of Church Road. Ac­cord­ing to New Hanover Po­lice Chief Kevin R. McKeon, a ve­hi­cle trav­el­ing west­bound struck a ve­hi­cle trav­el­ing east­bound. Two peo­ple were trans­ported to area hos­pi­tals for treat­ment of their in­juries. The crash is still un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

The New Hanover Po­lice Depart­ment was as­sisted by Dou­glass Town­ship Po­lice, New Hanover Fire & Res­cue, Up­per Fred­er­ick Fire Com­pany, Gil­bertsville Am­bu­lance, Ply­mouth Am­bu­lance, and MedE­vac and Jef­fSTAT med­i­cal he­li­copters.
