One in­jured in Route 202 crash

The West­town-East Goshen Re­gional Po­lice Depart­ment is in­ves­ti­gat­ing a se­ri­ous crash that oc­curred on Wilm­ing­ton Pike at Stanton Av­enue in West­town on Mon­day morn­ing in front of the Qual­ity Inn & Suites.

The male driver of a Honda was trapped in the car fol­low­ing a col­li­sion with a Ford pickup truck about 9:15 a.m.

Fame and First West Chester fire com­pa­nies re­sponded to ex­tri­cate the vic­tim from the car. Fire­fight­ers re­moved the doors on one side to safely re­move the man.

A po­lice of­fi­cer on lo­ca­tion said the driver was con­scious and alert; how­ever, with crashes in­volv­ing such force, crews take all safety pre­cau­tions.

Good Fel­low­ship EMS, as­sisted by Con­cordville paramedics, trans­ported the vic­tim to a hos­pi­tal.

There was no fur­ther word on his con­di­tion.

West Chester and Goshen fire po­lice had Route 202 north closed un­til 10:15 a.m. as crews cleaned up the scene.
