Den­nis R. McBride of Down­ing­town

Den­nis R. McBride, 70, passed away sud­denly on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 17, 2016. He was the beloved hus­band of the late Mary Ellen El­iz­a­beth “Mickie” Bracken, with whom he shared 40 years of mar­riage prior to her pass­ing in 2008.

Born in Philadel­phia, he was the son of the late Vin­cent and Mar­garet M. Heag­gerty McBride.

Den­nis proudly served his coun­try in the United States Army dur­ing the Viet­nam War. He was a life-long parish­ioner of St. Joseph Church, Down­ing­town where he was also em­ployed as a grounds keeper for over 20 years. He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Colum­bus and 4th de­gree Knight.

He was a model train en­thu­si­ast and an avid fly fish­er­man. Den­nis was all about his faith, com­mu­nity and fam­ily. He was a lov­ing fa­ther and grand­fa­ther.

Den­nis is sur­vived by his chil­dren, Pa­tri­cia J. (David) Salome, Christo­pher M. (Kim­berly) McBride and Michael D. (Emily) McBride. He is also sur­vived by a brother, John McBride and by 10 grand­chil­dren.

An evening visi­ta­tion will be held from 6-8 pm, Mon­day, Novem­ber 21, 2016 at the James J. Terry Fu­neral Home, 736 E. Lan­caster Av­enue, Down­ing­town.

Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Tues­day, Novem­ber 22, 2016 at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Av­enue, Down­ing­town, where fam­ily and friends may call from 9:4510:45 am.

In­ter­ment will be in St. Joseph Ceme­tery, Down­ing­town.
