Ira R. Clavier Sr. of Coatesville
Ira R. Clavier, Sr., age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at Tel Hai retirement community.
Ira was the husband of the late Eileen Boyd Clavier. He was born in Guthrieville to the late Herbert and Minerva Clavier. Ira graduated from Downingtown High School and worked in his father’s grocery store in Coatesville. Later, Ira went on to retire from the Coatesville post office in 1985. He also worked at Zausner Food Corp. in New Holland, PA.
Ira served in the Navy during World War ll on the USS Fecthler, DD870.
Ira is survived by his two sons, Chip Clavier and his wife Molly of Coatesville and Eric Clavier and his wife Linda of New Holland, three Grandchildren Ryan Clavier, Jennifer DeSilver and Brian Clavier as well as two Great Grandchildren, Hunter and Evan DeSilver. He is also survived by his brother Walt Clavier and wife Janet and his sister Marian Redlin, all of Delaware.
Ira will be buried at Georgetown Cemetery. In keeping with Ira’s wishes, there will be no services.
