Tem­ple rolls to sixth straight win

Ja­had Thomas ran for 152 yards and two touch­downs as Tem­ple beat East Carolina 37-10 on Satur­day night to clinch its sec­ond straight East Divi­sion title and berth in the Amer­i­can Ath­letic Con­fer­ence cham­pi­onship.

The Owls (9-3, 7-1) have won six straight and will face Navy (9-2, 7-1), which has a four-game win­ning streak, in the con­fer­ence cham­pi­onship next Satur­day.

Thomas ran for two 3-yard touch­downs. Ryquell Arm­stead added two scores from in­side the 2-yard line for Tem­ple, which also heads to a pro­gram-record sec­ond straight bowl game. Ado­nis Jen­nings had six catches for 100 yards.

Jager Gard­ner had a 14yard touch­down run for Tem­ple late in the fourth quar­ter.

Gard­ner Min­shew threw a 13-yard touch­down pass to Jimmy Wil­liams in the first quar­ter for East Carolina (3-9, 1-7). It was the first score against the Owls in their last 10 quar­ters.
