Over­ton gets first win at Lincoln

Ver­non Young’s three­p­oint bas­ket with 2:18 left put Lincoln ahead for good en route to a 59-54 vic­tory over the Univer­sity of the Sci­ences in a non­league men’s col­lege bas­ket­ball game Tues­day.

The win was the first for head coach and for­mer La Salle Doug Over­ton.

Youmg led the Li­ons (1-6) Ver­non Young led the Li­ons with 16 points, while Joshua Davis and Jor­dan Wat­son added 15 and 11 points re­spec­tively.

Will Gre­gorits led Sci­ences with 22 points.

BLOOM­FIELD 97, WEST CH­ESTER 86 >> Ma­lik Jack­son) scored 24 points, but it was not enough as host Bloom­field de­feated visit­ing West Ch­ester. West Ch­ester (3-3) shot just 38 per­cent from the field as the Golden Rams saw their three-game win­ning streak halted. Mean­while, Bloom­field (3-4) shot 49 per­cent from the floor to end its three-game slide. Jack­son was the only Golden Rams player in dou­ble fig­ures. Dashon Gid­dings, Thomas White and Mike Jo­laoso had nine points each.
