Nair leads Amer­i­can semi­fi­nal­ists

Top-seeded Adira Nair of Great Val­ley lost just three games in two matches as she rolled into the Ch­esMont League Amer­i­can Di­vi­sion girls ten­nis semi­fi­nals at Ken­nett High School on Fri­day.

Nair won her first match over Rustin’s Kaitlyn Ma­nis- calco, 6-0, 6-1. She routed Oc­torara’s Kelly Lom­boy, 6-1, 6-1 in the quar­ter­fi­nals.

She will face Rustin’s Tay­lor Hut­sell, who out­lasted Unionville’s Bai­ley San­tigu­ida in three sets in the quar­ters.

In the other semi­fi­nal, El­iza Wilks of Unionville will face team­mate Leah Wal­ter.

The semis are set for this morn­ing at Ken­nett, with the final to fol­low.

WEST CH­ESTER HENDERSON 3, MARPLE NEW­TOWN 0 » The War­riors im­proved to 10-4 overall with a 25-6, 2512, 25-7 nonleague vic­tory. Randi Des­rosiers had four kills and Tay­lor Dale added six aces and 18 as­sists.

DOWN­ING­TOWN WEST 3, PENNCREST 1 » Aly Rear­don led the way with 20 kills and Hai­ley Lewis added 14 kills and five blocks as the Whip­pets (6-3) col­lected the 25-22, 20-25, 25-17, 2523 nonleague win. Ken­zie Pin­cura added 10 kills and two aces, Chloe O’Don­nell notched 26 as­sists and 11 digs. Brynn Nanni notched five blocks and Paige Polsin had 15 digts.

WEST CH­ESTER RUSTIN 3, PERKIOMEN VAL­LEY 2 » Emma Nel­son notched 29 kills and 14 digs as the Golden Knights ral­lied for the nonleague win by scores of 25-19, 22-25, 23-25, 25-23, 16-14, Kaia Johnson added 11 killa and three blocks, Alessia Mat­ters am­massed 27 kills and 13 digs. Cal­lie McGinnis dished out 37 as­sists and Emily Sup­plee had 18 digs. WEST CH­ESTER EAST 3, UP­PER DARBY 0 » Tay­lor Craw­ford had 20 digs and Ryleigh Grif­fin had 19 as­sists as the Vik­ings won the nonleague con­test, 2518. 25-5. 25-21.

Boys Cross Country

PAUL SHORT INVIATIONAL » Bishop Shana­han’s Josh Hoey fin­ished third overall in the Brown Di­vi­sion race at Le­high. Hoey fin­ished in 15:16. Tyler Rollins of Down­ing­town West was 10th and Pay­ton Se­wall fin­ished 19th. Josh Lewin from West Ch­ester East was 17th.

Girls Cross Country

PAUL SHORT INVIATIONAL » Con­estoga se­nior Do­minique Shultz was sixth in the Brown Di­vi­sion race at Le­high. Ally Clarke was 17th for West Ch­ester East.

Water Polo

MALVERN PREP 16, LA SALLE 8» Steven Salle had five goals and thre steals to power the Fri­ars (11-1) to the nonleague vic­tory. Is­sac Sali­nas chipped in with four goals, while Sean Oates and Jack Cas­sidy had two goals each. Griff De­laney and Jake Cau­field com­bined for 16 saves.
