Ed­ward “Ed” Wil­son

Ed­ward “Ed” Wil­son passed away on the 17th of Au­gust in Semi­nole, FL. Born in Glen Mill, PA on Fe­bru­ary 6th, 1930. He at­tended West Ch­ester area schools in Ch­ester County PA. He and seven­teen other boys from Ch­ester County joined the ser­vice dur­ing the Korean War. He served on the USS MID­WAY (CVA41) Air­craft Car­rier as an aerial pho­tog­ra­pher. Af­ter the ser­vice, Ed was em­ployed by the Daily Lo­cal News as their first News Pho­tog­ra­pher and Photo En­graver. Af­ter many, many years of ser­vice with the Daily Lo­cal News, he left to open a restau­rant called the Farmer in the Dell, that be­came a very pop­u­lar eat­ing place in Ch­ester County, PA.

He is pre­ceded in death by his first wife of 17 years, Betty Jane Sim­mons of Mar­shal­ton, PA. In 1986 he mar­ried Mar­ian P. Lex of Wilmington, DE. They moved to Indian Rocks Beach, FL where they owned and op­er­ated the Villa St. Tropez con­do­minium com­plex for 12 years, then re­tired and moved to Semi­nole, FL. On Jan­uary 27, 2007, af­ter 21 years of mar­riage, Mar­ian passed away. Also pre­ceded in death were his broth­ers Wil­liam, James, Jack, Charles and sis­ters Mar­garet Groth, Mary Guillo, Cather­ine But­ler and Edna Wil­son.

Ed is sur­vived by his two sons, Wil­liam Scott & wife Kim of Booth­wyn, PA and Christo­pher B & Mada­lyn Summa of As­ton, PA., Grand­son, Blake E. Wil­son and Step Daugh­ters in law Suzanne K Lex Find­ley, with hus­band Rus­sell and grand­son Jarod of Tal­la­has­see, FL and Helju Maria Lex of Leo­nia, NJ.

Me­mo­rial Cel­e­bra­tion will be held at the Con­cordville Inn in Glen Mills, PA on Satur­day, Septem­ber 22nd from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
