Man charged af­ter pass­ing counterfeit bills at Boscov’s

A 59-year-old man was charged af­ter po­lice said he passed counterfeit bills at the Boscov’s store at the Ex­ton Square Mall.

Howard Wil­son, 49, of Elkins Park, was charged with forgery, theft by de­cep­tion, re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty and re­tail theft in con­nec­tion with the Sept. 22 in­ci­dent. The charges were filed af­ter an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into nine al­leged counterfeit bills that were passed at the Boscov’s. An ar­rest war­rant was ob­tained for Wil­son and he was taken into cus­tody on Oct. 4. He was re­manded to Ch­ester County Prison af­ter fail­ing to post 10 per­cent of $10,000 bail.

Po­lice re­ports from West White­land Po­lice Depart­ment: Care­less driv­ing Der­rick Shep­herd, 21, of Parkes­burg, was charged with ac­ci­dents in­volv­ing dam­age to at­tended ve­hi­cle or prop­erty, duty to give in­for­ma­tion and ren­der aid and care­less driv­ing. The charges were filed af­ter an of­fi­cer in­ves­ti­gated an al­leged hit-and-run crash in the 100 block of North Pottstown Pike on Aug. 14. Shep­herd was iden­ti­fied as the al­leged ac­tor of the strik­ing ve­hi­cle and was charged by crim­i­nal sum­mons. DUI Clifford Hat­field Sr., 57, of Down­ing­town, was charged with DUI on Sept. 29. The charge was filed af­ter an of­fi­cer con­ducted a traf­fic stop on the Route 30 By­pass for a traf­fic vi­o­la­tion. An of­fi­cer con­tacted Hat­field who was the al­leged driver of the ve­hi­cle. Hat­field was ar­rested af­ter al­legedly fail­ing field so­bri­ety tests. Hat­field was re­leased on a crim­i­nal sum­mons. Re­tail theft Allen Burkholder, 26, of Coatesville, was charged with re­tail theft on Oct. 1. The charge was filed af­ter an of­fi­cer re­sponded to the Wal­mart store lo­cated in the 200 block of In­dian Run Street for an al­leged $31 theft. Burkholder was is­sued a non-traf­fic ci­ta­tion and re­leased Re­tail theft Zachary Kis­sel, 27, of Phoenixville, and Kyriq Wil­liams, 27, of Philadel­phia, were each charged with re­tail theft, re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty and crim­i­nal con­spir­acy. The charges were filed af­ter an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into an al­leged $1,299 theft from the Tar­get store on Sept. 28. Each sub­ject was charged and ar­raigned by Judge John Bai­ley. They were each re­leased on a $5,000 un­se­cured bail. Cor­rup­tion of mi­nors Marco Vazquez, 23, of Coatesville, was charged with fur­nish­ing liquor to mi­nors and cor­rup­tion of mi­nors. The charges were filed af­ter an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into a 15-year-old fe­male who had al­legedly been pro­vided al­co­hol at a busi­ness in the 200 block of N.

Pottstown Pike on Aug. 11. Vazquez was charged by crim­i­nal sum­mons. Re­tail theft Rashonda White, 24, of Up­per Darby, and Domenique Jones, 25, of Philadel­phia, were charged with re­tail theft and re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty. The charges were filed af­ter of­fi­cers re­sponded to the Carter’s store for an al­leged $94 theft on Sept. 19. White was ar­rested at the scene. She was ar­raigned and re­leased af­ter post­ing 10 per­cent of her $2,500 bail. An ar­rest war­rant was is­sued for Jones and she was taken into cus­tody in Mont­gomery County. She was un­able to post 10 per­cent of $20,000 cash bail and was held at Mont­gomery County Prison. Re­tail theft An­gela Vil­lanueva, 25, of Coatesville, was charged with re­tail theft and re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty. The charges were filed af­ter an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into a $209 theft from the Tar­get store on Sept. 19. Vil­lanueva was charged by crim­i­nal sum­mons. Ha­rass­ment David White, 35, of no known ad­dress, was charged with ter­ror­is­tic threats, sim­ple as­sault, ha­rass­ment, dis­or­derly con­duct and pub­lic drunk­en­ness on Sept. 22. The charges were filed af­ter of­fi­cers re­sponded to the Ex­ton Train Sta­tion for a re­port of a sub­ject threat­en­ing a woman with a knife. White was taken into cus­tody and trans­ported to Ch­ester County Hospi­tal where he was re­leased to med­i­cal per­son­nel. Sim­ple as­sault Mark Beam, 32, of West Ch­ester, was charged with sim­ple as­sault and ha­rass­ment on Sept. 23. The charges were filed af­ter of­fi­cers re­sponded to a res­i­dence in the 1300 block of Copeland Road for an al­leged as­sault. Beam was ar­raigned and re­manded to Ch­ester County Prison af­ter fail­ing to post 10 per­cent of his $10,000 bail. Re­tail theft Ni­cholas Piom­bino, 26, of Coatesville, was charged with re­tail theft and re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty on Sept. 25. The charges were filed af­ter of­fi­cers re­sponded to the Wal­mart store for an al­leged $113 theft. Piom­bino was re­leased on a crim­i­nal sum­mons. DUI John Hick­man, 22, of Phoenixville, was charged with DUI on Sept. 26. The charge was filed af­ter of­fi­cers re­sponded to the park­ing lot of the Wal­mart store for a re­port of an un­re­spon­sive per­son in an au­to­mo­bile. Of­fi­cers re­sponded to the scene along with med­i­cal per­son­nel. Con­tact was made with Hick­man who was barely con­scious and was seated in the driver’s seat of the ve­hi­cle. Al­leged drug para­pher­na­lia was recovered at the scene. Hick­man was trans­ported to Ch­ester County Hospi­tal and was later charged by crim­i­nal sum­mons.
