CHURCHILL DOWNS

by a neck last out, though she was outgamed in the lane; 3 for 5 at Churchill with all the wins coming with today’s jockey, Robby Albarado. NINETEENTH

STREET, a 3-year-old filly matched against older, has shown vast improvement since adding blinkers, winning three races and running second in a stakes race; accustomed to running shorter but likely has the pedigree to go a one-turn mile. PUT DA BLAME

ON ME was a dominant first-level allowance winner in fast time May 28, but enjoyed a free-running trip in the lead and will likely regress off her 89 Beyer against better and facing more pace pressure.

EIGHTH RACE

PATRICK’S DAY had a troubled trip when 10th in the Louisville Handicap, and was likely outclassed regardless; fits vs. allowance runners as he showed with a nose loss to heavy favorite Hunter O Riley at Keeneland Apr. 28; handles any distance. WAYWARD KITTEN never got involved at Belmont when eighth there June 10 but had previously been third in the same Apr. 27 allowance at Keeneland in which PATRICK’S DAY was third; 4-1-1-1 on the Churchill lawn with his only unplaced effort here coming over tiring, wet ground in stakes company. ZAPPERINI figured to need his latest when returning from a layoff and finishing fifth in an allowance that was won by Forge, a colt that seems destined for stakes.

NINTH RACE

AWESOME FU, the day’s best, stands out on class and speed figures, and moves into a high percentage barn; sharp June 13 work. CAN’T REMEMBER as two fourths and a third over his last three starts in maiden claimers, all of which came for higher tags; cut back to six furlongs and fading in his last two races at a mile. WEST END GAMBLER is a first timer that starts for an owner, Greg James, that has been known to strike first out with horses purchased for modest amounts at auction; quick recent work going a half mile at Trackside.
