Climate watch
To the Times: President Trump cites American business interests in his support of pulling out of the Paris Agreement. He claims to be listening to advice from environmental experts, but with Tump it’s clear that the environment and public health clearly come second to corporate business and political interests. This has to stop.
The truth is, climate change doesn’t have a political agenda; It’s not a “partisan issue”. Choosing to turn a blind eye to the problem in our legislatures won’t stop the earth from warming or the oceans from rising. Pennsylvania is already seeing the effects of a non-existent climate policy. Due to our abnormally warm winter, tick populations are expected to skyrocket along with incidents of Lyme disease. The effects of climate change have already been a danger to our environment, but now our country’s inaction is directly hurting our health and the health of our communities.
We can’t afford to continue putting the health and wellbeing of our citizens on hold any longer. We need climate action now.
