UPPER DARBY » Police are investigating a rash of burglaries in the Drexel Park section of the township.

No injuries have been reported in any of the home break-ins. Police said no one was home during most of the incidents, but fear that could change since the incidents appear to be escalating.

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said he believes the heists are probably the work of one or two people, likely looking to make a quick score or something they can sell for cash to buy drugs.

Four burglaries have been reported in the past three weeks. All have been in the Drexel Park section. In one incident, a home in the 4000 block of Huey Avenue was completely ransacked while the home owners were away.

Police noted the common theme in the burglaries — all occurred while no one was at home.

Police are urging anyone who sees anything suspicious to report it.
