Se­ries serves friends, fam­i­lies of ad­dicts

The ninth ses­sion of a lo­cal, free se­ries to help in­crease un­der­stand­ing of ad­dic­tions will be held Wed­nes­day.

Sherry Knapp-Brown, Ph.D., CAS, APA-CP, Lind­ner Cen­ter of HOPE Staff Psy­chol­o­gist and Cer­ti­fied Ad­dic­tions Spe­cial­ist, will present “Help for Fam­ily/ Friends of Per­sons Ad­dicted to Al­co­hol/Drugs.”

Lind­ner Cen­ter of HOPE, with the sup­port of Manor House in Ma­son, is of­fer­ing a Free Com­mu­nity Ed­u­ca­tion Se­ries in 2017 on top­ics re­lated to ad­dic­tion. The se­ries of­fers ex­pert dis­cus­sion of sub­stance use dis­or­ders, be­hav­ioral ad­dic­tions, treat­ment and strate­gies for cop­ing.

The se­ries is at Manor House, 7440 Ma­son-Mont­gomery Road, on the third Wed­nes­day of the month at 6 p.m. through Nov. 15.
