Teen gets 15 years to life for shoot­ing man

A Day­ton teen ac­cused of lur­ing a man to a car in an apart­ment park­ing lot pos­ing as though she was go­ing to per­form a sex act be­fore the vic­tim was fa­tally shot was sen­tenced for mur­der Tues­day.

Elexus Dawkins, 17, was sen­tenced to 15 years to life in prison for her role in the shoot­ing death of Day­ton mu­sic pro­moter El­roy Facey on Hoover Av­enue in May.

“This de­fen­dant lured the vic­tim to her apart­ment park­ing lot un­der the guise of per­form­ing a sex act on the vic­tim, in­side a ve­hi­cle, when the co-de­fen­dant shot the vic­tim,” the Mont­gomery County Pros­e­cu­tor’s Of­fice said in a re­lease.

The co-de­fen­dant, Michael J. Wood, Jr., is sched­uled to go on trial Jan. 22 for his role in the shoot­ing death.
