Schools chief provides update to district board
The Troy City Schools Board of Education heard an update from Superintendent Eric Herman on the proposed withdrawal from the Greater Western Ohio Conference during the board’s monthly meeting Monday.
Herman said the district would withdraw and form a new league with nine other schools.
The board would be asked next month to vote to withdraw so a letter can be send to the league by March 31.
The board also would be asked to approve a resolution for the district to proceed to the new league.
Herman explained that the schools wanted to align with other similar schools in enrollment, programs offered and the ability to realize some potential success in the future. The Troy schools have been part of GWOC since its founding in 2001.
