WSU to host opi­oid treat­ment train­ing

Providers can get free ad­dic­tion medicine train­ing next week through Wright State Uni­ver­sity’s Boon­shoft School of Medicine.

The two-day train­ing is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and Oct. 19 at the Wright State Uni­ver­sity Stu­dent Union, and 13 con­tin­u­ing ed­u­ca­tion cred­its will be given.

The train­ing is over the Amer­i­can So­ci­ety of Ad­dic­tion Medicine’s guide­lines for pa­tients with ad­dic­tion and co-oc­cur­ring con­di­tions. Physi­cians, nurse prac­ti­tion­ers and physi­cian as­sis­tants will have op­por­tu­ni­ties for skill prac­tice in as­sess­ment, en­gage­ment, treat­ment plan­ning, con­tin­u­ing care and trans­fer or dis­charge.
