Hur­ri­cane re­lief fund

The Foodbank, in part­ner­ship with Wright-Patt Credit Union (WPCU), has set up a spe­cial Hur­ri­cane Michael Re­lief Fund to ac­cept fi­nan­cial do­na­tions for any­one that would like to do­nate to the dis­as­ter fund. Sin­clair Com­mu­nity Col­lege and many other or­ga­ni­za­tions have stepped up to help, pro­vid­ing sites to drop off cases of bot­tled wa­ter and canned goods.

Through Fri­day, Oct. 19, do­na­tions will be col­lected to sup­port those af­fected by this hur­ri­cane and other dis­as­ters.

Michelle L. Ri­ley, CEO of The Foodbank, says “Our thoughts go out to all those im­pacted by Hur­ri­cane Michael. Many Day­to­ni­ans have lo­cal ties to res­i­dents on the East Coast. Those who are look­ing for a way to help can do so lo­cally. Thank you to Wright Patt Credit Union and Sin­clair Com­mu­nity Col­lege for con­tin­u­ously part­ner­ing with us to help dur­ing na­tional dis­as­ters.” To do­nate funds:

■ Do­na­tions can be made at any WPCU lo­ca­tions un­der the ac­count name Hur­ri­cane Michael Re­lief Fund

To do­nate bot­tled wa­ter and canned goods: Do­na­tions can be dropped off at the fol­low­ing lo­ca­tions:

■ Sin­clair Com­mu­nity Col­lege, Build­ing 12, lo­cated on the cor­ner of West Fourth Street and Perry Street in down­town Day­ton from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Wed­nes­day, Oct. 17

■ Ohio Med­i­cal Trans­port, 2740 W. Na­tional Rd., Day­ton (across from the Day­ton In­ter­na­tional Air­port) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

■ The Foodbank, 56 Ar­mor Place, Day­ton, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
