Grants aid safety effort
Members of the Montgomery County OVI Task Force (MCOVITF) and Montgomery County Safe Communities met on Oct. 10 at Calvary Cemetery for the 2019 OVI Grant kickoff.
The MCOVITF was awarded $224,968.53 for the 2019 OVI grant year.
The Montgomery County Safe Communities grant award is $125,000, and the Preble County Safe Communities grant award was in the amount of $35,000.
The task force will continue working to keep Montgomery County safe for all drivers and pedestrians who use our roadways.
The grant will allow the task force members to continue monthly saturation patrols and conduct at least 16 checkpoints throughout the 2018/2019 year.
