The Miami County commissioners’ office will solicit statements of qualifications for design and engineering work for a project to evaluate the needs of the 1880s county Courthouse and provide project management services.
The commissioners voted to seek the professional service during their meeting Thursday.
Chris Johnson, county operations and facilities director, told the commissioners that the next Courthouse renovation project likely will include interior work including painting and plaster work along with addressing issues with the exterior stonework on the first floor. Project work is included in the proposed 2019 budget.
“This will not be a small project,” said Commissioner Jack Evans. NANCY BOWMAN, CONTRIBUTING WRITER
