Court­house ren­o­va­tion

The Mi­ami County com­mis­sion­ers’ of­fice will so­licit state­ments of qual­i­fi­ca­tions for de­sign and en­gi­neer­ing work for a project to eval­u­ate the needs of the 1880s county Court­house and pro­vide project man­age­ment ser­vices.

The com­mis­sion­ers voted to seek the pro­fes­sional ser­vice dur­ing their meet­ing Thurs­day.

Chris John­son, county op­er­a­tions and fa­cil­i­ties direc­tor, told the com­mis­sion­ers that the next Court­house ren­o­va­tion project likely will in­clude in­te­rior work in­clud­ing paint­ing and plas­ter work along with ad­dress­ing is­sues with the ex­te­rior stonework on the first floor. Project work is in­cluded in the pro­posed 2019 bud­get.
