The 4th Generation Corvette (C4) was such a radical technical advancement from the long-running (1968-82) C3 that it ended up requiring nearly an extra year beyond its planned 1983 launch date. As a result, it premiered as a 1984 model—skipping the ’83 model year entirely. When the C4 exploded onto the automotive scene it was an instant star, so its not surprising that it found its way quickly onto television and movie screens. One of the most popular TV shows of the day was the action hit The A-Team; season two began filming shortly after the C4 went on sale so they wrote in a white ‘84 coupe (with a set of bright red custom vinyl decals applied) as Faceman’s preferred ride—a fitting counterpart to

B.A.’s GMC van! 1998’s TheBigLebowski couldn’t be more different in terms of plot, but one memorable scene features a very similar C4 Vette—a red ’85 coupe that meets an ignominious end at the hands of John Goodman’s high-strung character Walter Sobchak. Greenlight has added both star Vettes to its Hollywood 1:18 series, and both feature opening doors and hoods along with newly tooled removable targa tops.
