OWNER’S WIFE KITINA SAYS: “My hus­band has al­ways wanted a new Chevy truck but re­ally could not ever find the one we wanted in our price range. As the kids got older, it was harder for all of us to ride in a sin­gle cab. One day, he came up with the idea that he would just build the truck he wanted. So he stretched the frame and added the crew cab with a 454 big-block and a five-speed trans­mis­sion, but he couldn’t get any mileage out of it. So it was de­cided to go with a 12-valve Cum­mins. Now, it can pull any­thing we need, ev­ery­one can fit, and it gets great fuel mileage. Out of the 20 years he has owned the truck, it has been this way for about 3 years. It rides great and we love it.”
