Diesel Power Challenge 2018 Coverage
Presented by XDP
IF THERE’S anyone who thinks Diesel Power Challenge Presented by XDP isn’t one of the greatest diesel competitions on the planet, we respectfully and, of course, selfishly beg to differ. Once again, the 14th edition of our annual truck throw down was nothing short of awesome, with nine reader-selected rigs and drivers converging on Denver, Colorado, in June 2018, to battle each other in six grueling tests of man and machine.
DPC is typically contested by 10 participants. And yes, a full lineup of three Dodge, three Ford, and four GM rigs was originally set to compete. However, similar to the 2017 event, the roster was juxtaposed slightly by the last-minute withdrawal
of two competitors (Trevor Ruffcorn/Dodge and Vinny Hobart/Ford) right before registration opened.
The absences opened the door for Garrett Osen’s placement into the lineup, bringing the total number of competitors to nine. Garrett was DPC 2018’s official Alternate, and he is the fourth consecutive substitute player to actually make it into the Challenge.
“DPC Week” was an intense five days of awesome competition, cooperation, and sportsmanship. We here at Diesel Power truly believe that from start to finish (receiving entries, voting, announcing competitors’ names, and the crowning of Kody Pulliam as champion) this was the best DPC in the event’s history.
