Honda un­veiled its 2018 CRF250R to the press at the GEICO Honda race shop, and the new bike has a lot of changes that have us ex­cited for its Oc­to­ber in­tro. The head is a dual cam de­sign, go­ing away from Honda’s Uni­cam, and uses rocker arms to open the valves. The ex­haust on the new bike is a full twin ex­haust—that means two full sys­tems, each run­ning up each side of the bike. The en­gine’s in­take routes over the rear shock top mount de­sign (just like what the CRF450R re­ceived last year), and the 250’s in­take feeds larger in­take and ex­haust valves that have a higher lift. The bike is elec­tric start only and the sus­pen­sion up­grade is the same one the CRF450R got last year ex­cept with dif­fer­ent spring rates and valv­ing. Yep, that means a coil spring fork on the new Honda 250F.
