Domino - - DECORATING - Photographs by MICHAEL WILTBANK text by CAROLINE BIGGS

When domino’s chief revenue officer, Beth Brenner, was ready to refresh her Manhattan abode, she decided to start with the windows and work her way in.

With the help of Smith & Noble’s in-home design services, Beth Brenner gave her windows a kidfriendly update. Brenner, who has lived in her Upper West Side apartment—which she shares with her husband, Bob, and daughters, Natalie, 8, and Emma, 5—for more than 20 years, was craving a change. “There’s a period of time while raising small children,” she says, “in which you just don’t want to decorate out of fear that the kiddies will destroy it.” But the moment her girls were a bit older, Brenner called upon Smith & Noble’s Jane Magallanes, who helped her pick the perfect custom window treatments. The company’s popular in-home client service offers customers such as Brenner access to more than 1,500 fabrics. “Window treatments are a smart way to focus your interior design needs,” says Magallanes. “And they’re also a great jumping-off point for your future decorating endeavors.” Next step for Brenner? Floor coverings!
