CAM­BRIDGE — Tina Gray Wal­ter, 56, of Cam­bridge, MD, passed away peace­fully on Fri­day, April 22, 2016, at Univer­sity of Mary­land Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Bal­ti­more, sur­rounded by her lov­ing fam­ily. She was born on April 3, 1960, in Cam­bridge. She was the daugh­ter of the late Har­vey Wat­son Gray and Rose Spear Gray.

Tina at­tended schools in Cam­bridge and grad­u­ated from Cam­bridge-South Dorch­ester High School. On Aug. 20, 1977, she mar­ried Lau­rence J. Wal­ter Jr. They resided in Cam­bridge their en­tire mar­riage.

Tina was em­ployed briefly by the Dorch­ester County Board of Ed­u­ca­tion, then many years with the City of Cam­bridge Plan­ning & Zon­ing Com­mis­sion. She was later em­ployed by Hi-Tech Plas­tics and Men­tor Mary­land.

Sur­vivors in­clude her de­voted hus­band, Lau­rence J. Wal­ter Jr., of Cam­bridge; a daugh­ter, Melissa Camp­bell (Doug), of Jack­sonville, FL; a son, Lau­rence J. Wal­ter III (Liz), of Ti­mo­nium, MD; and grand­daugh­ters Elis­a­beth (Eb­bie) and Is­abelle (Izzy) Camp­bell, of Jack­sonville, FL. She is also sur­vived by three sis­ters; Faye Wil­ley (Ger­ald), of Hunt­ing­town, MD; Deb­bie Bay­nard (David), of Trappe, MD; Betty Elzey (Danny Watkins), of Eas­ton, MD; and one brother, Har­vey W. Gray Jr. (Cindy), of Gaithers­burg, MD. In ad­di­tion, she is sur­vived by the fol­low­ing nieces and neph­ews: Von Wil­ley, Ed­die Wil­ley (Pam), Chuck Creighton (Laura), Billy Creighton (Diana), Al­li­son Rosen­thal (Kevin), Julie Trom­mat­ter (Matthew), Mor­gan Travers (Melissa Hiers), Sara Pritchard (P.J. Criss), Me­gan Elzey (Ed­die An­ders), Lau­ren Elzey (Cody Downs), and their fam­i­lies.

Tina and Lau­rence were high school sweet­hearts, and when they mar­ried, Tina was wel­comed into a large and lov­ing ex­tended fam­ily. She leaves be­hind a fa­ther-in-law, Don­ald Ruark; sis­ters-in-law Bon­nie Moore, Shirley Mar­shall (Rex), Jane Dor­man (Sonny), Pat McDon­ald (Kenny), Donna Kibbe (Marty); and broth­ers-in-law Ray Raines (Carolyn) and Jim Wal­ter (Gayle); and many nieces and neph­ews.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by two sis­ters, Leona Pritchard and Jean Foster, mother-in-law Shirley Ruark; fa­ther-in-law Lau­rence J. Wal­ter Sr., sis­ter-in-law Diane Wal­ter, and niece Katie Kibbe.

A memo­rial ser­vice will be held on Fri­day, April 29, 11 a.m. at Thomas Fu­neral Home, P.A. in Cam­bridge, with Rev. Christina Blake of­fi­ci­at­ing. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends dur­ing the hour pre­ced­ing the ser vice.
