WECA Historic Tours Saturdays
West End Citizens Association hosts Saturday “One Hour Walking Tour of Historic High Street” in Cambridge. Tours will continue each Saturday (weather permitting) through Saturday, Oct. 29. Meet your Colonial costumed tour guide at 11 a.m. on Long Wharf at the foot of High Street every Saturday. Reservations are not necessary, but appreciated. High Street is the oldest street in the City of Cambridge first named in 1706.

Salvation Army Adult Bible Class Sundays The Salvation Army, 200 Washington Street, would like to invite the public to participate in the Adult Bible Class held each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. Classes involve singing hymns, prayer and a Bible lesson, often with guest speakers and special music. Coffee and pastries are offered. Children’s classes are also available, and a worship service follows at 11 a.m.

Cambridge Woman’s Club Annual Meeting May 6 On Friday, May 6, the Cambridge Woman’s Club hosts its annual meeting beginning with a luncheon at 12:30. In lieu of a speaker, the club will recognize its new members as well as 510and 15-year members as well as discuss recent accomplishments and future plans. The meeting is free and open to the public. Monthly meetings take place at the club house at Sycamore Cottage, 417 High Street, across from the Robin Hood Shop. Eldorado/Brookview Community Yard Sale May 7 Eldorado/Brookview will host a community yard sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5618 Indiantown Road in Brookview. The event features a bake sale benefiting the North Dorchester Varsity Girls Soccer Team and a chicken barbecue sale to benefit the volunteer fire company at 10 a.m. There will be more thna three dozen sellers.
Dorchester County Health Department Spring Rabies Clinic May 7 The Dorchester County Health Department will hold two more rabies clinics around the county this spring. The first will be held at the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Dept. from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 7. The second will be held behind the Dorchester County Health Dept. building, 3 Cedar Street, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon also on Saturday, May 7. They will be vaccinating dogs, cats and ferrets for only $5. Dogs must be on a leash and cats and ferrets must be in a carrier.

Fun Dog Show May 14 Christ Episcopal Church Fun Dog Show will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Governors Hall at Sailwinds Park. Registration for a variety of show classes starts at 9 a.m. The dogs must be at least 6 months old and on a leash in order to compete, no pedigrees required. There are many fun categories to choose from including Best Small Dog, Best Biggest Dog, Best Costume, Best Tricks, Best Heinz 57 (from a shelter).
