Fun Dog Show set for May 14 in Cam­bridge

CAM­BRIDGE — The Christ Epis­co­pal Church Fun Dog Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Satur­day, May 14, in Gov­er­nors Hall at Sail­winds Park.

Reg­is­tra­tion for a va­ri­ety of show classes starts at 9 a.m. The dogs must be at least 6 months old and on a leash in or­der to com­pete, no pedi­grees re­quired. There are many fun cat­e­gories to choose from in­clud­ing Best Small Dog, Best Big­gest Dog, Best Cos­tume, Best Tricks, Best Heinz 57 (from a shel­ter). The first cat­e­gory en­try is $5 and ad­di­tional cat­e­gories, $4 each.

A raf­fle for items in­clud­ing many lo­cal busi­ness gift cer­tifi­cates and sur­prises will be fea­tured. The event is free to the pub­lic, rain or shine.

A por­tion of the pro­ceeds from the event will ben­e­fit the Hu­mane So­ci­ety. For more in­for­ma­tion call Christ Church at 410-228-3161.


Lav­ern and Shirley and Gidget were among the Mal­tese pups that have been res­cued by Vir­ginia Knauff of Pet Threadz in Cam­bridge. Lav­ern and Shirley ap­pear quite happy in their pas­tel out­fits, while Gidget went Hawai­ian in the 2014 Fun Dog Show by Christ Epis­co­pal Church in Cam­bridge.
