CAM­BRIDGE — Ev­erett W. Mered­ith, Jr., 78, of Cam­bridge passed away on Sun­day, May 22, 2016, at UMSMC at Dorch­ester. He was born in Tod­dville on Feb. 8, 1938, and was the son of the late Ev­erett W. Mered­ith, Sr. and Hilda Todd Mered­ith.

Mr. Mered­ith at­tended school in Tod­dville. He worked at Mered­ith & Mered­ith Seafood Com­pany. Mr. Mered­ith also helped at Foxwell’s Auc­tion. He at­tended Cam­bridge Wes­leyan Church un­til his health de­clined.

He is sur­vived by his sis­ter Nanalee Robin­son of Cam­bridge, three nieces Cindy Hig­gins and hus­band Ward of Hur­lock, Carol Wolf of Cam­bridge and Pa­tri­cia Zepp and hus­band Ray of Cam­bridge, a great niece Katie Foxwell and a great nephew Hunter Foxwell.

Pall­bear­ers will be Ward Hig­gins, Carl Hughes, Danny Cox, Gary Fields, and Hunter Foxwell. Hon­orary pall­bear­ers will be Billy Ins­ley, Sam Mal­one, Wayne Fields, Wade Wil­ley, Jimmy Adams and Phillip Wil­ley.

A fu­neral ser­vice will be held at 2 p.m. Thurs­day, May 26, at Thomas Fu­neral Home, P.A. in Cam­bridge with Pas­tor Jack Diehl and Rev. Barry Miller of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Dorch­ester Me­mo­rial Park. Fam­ily will re­ceive friends one hour prior to the ser­vice.
